Epworth Old Rectory
Though not geographically within
the Doncaster Circuit,
Epworth is only a few miles to the east, and is the birth place of both John and
Charles Wesley who, with others, were both greatly involved in the founding of
Methodism. The Old Rectory, their childhood home, is now a museum, and
along with St Andrew's Church (where their father Revd Samuel Wesley was
Rector), Wesley Memorial Church and a new Statue of John Wesley are a centre for
pilgrimage, especially by American Methodists.
